what is psychiatry

What is Psychiatry?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in mental health and is qualified and trained to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems. Psychiatry focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral issues.

The first step to facilitating change is identifying the factors in your life that are contributing to your pain.

Your treatment is personalized to your unique needs and goals. It may include talk therapy, medication, or a combination.

A psychiatrist can help you prevent a relapse in mental wellness after progress, and help stop your current condition from getting worse.

Welcome to R&H Wellness

R&H Wellness was founded by friends and colleagues  Dr. Andreya Reed and Dr. Renea Henderson.  Dr. Reed and Dr. Henderson teamed up to create R&H Wellness as a response to community needs. Their visions align with best practices in psychiatry so they created a private psychiatry practice where they could better serve their patients and community. R&H Wellness serves patients in two physical locations… as well as virtually via a secure telehealth platform.

Treatment Plans Personalized for Your Lifestyle and Goals

Improving mental wellness is not a one size fits all endeavor. Every individual is unique and requires a personalized plan that meets their unique circumstances. Both Dr. Reed and Dr. Henderson advocate for one on one talk therapy as part of their therapy plans. Medication will be discussed privately and recommended on a case-by-case basis depending on each individual’s needs, age, goals, and lifestyle.

“Dr. Henderson is extraordinary. She takes her time and truly cares for her patients. I have seen multiple other doctors for my anxiety and never made any progress until going to Dr. Henderson. She is kind and knowledgeable and goes above and beyond for her patients.”

"Before meeting Dr. Reed, I struggled to find a therapist. My options were already limited, as it was important for me to have a female therapist. Many of the therapists that I reached out to either did not respond to emails/voicemails or would not assist me in working out coverage with my insurance provider. I have thoroughly enjoyed therapy with Dr. Reed and have seen huge improvements to my mental health."

“I have been seeing Dr. Henderson for over a year. She is my 3rd psychiatrist. I absolutely love meeting with her! She makes me feel comfortable and listens to my thoughts and concerns. She has always been easy to work with.”

"Dr. Reed truly is the best psychiatrist/therapist I’ve ever had. She always thoroughly explains new meds to me and how they may affect me. She’s always on time and super friendly. I never feel judged in the slightest for anything I talk to her about. She gives me really helpful unbiased advice on how to handle issues I face in my day-to-day life."
